About the Script
Collaboraction's immersive theater production, "Trial in the Delta," brings to life the 1955 trial transcript of The State of Mississippi vs. Roy Bryant and J.W. Milam, based on the historic injustice surrounding the murder of Emmett Till.
Filmed in 4K during a live performance at The DuSable Museum of Black History, the resulting film captures riveting stage performances, audience reactions, and behind-the-scenes footage.
Experience the immersive audience experience of the trial that remains a monumental injustice in the U.S. legal system. Top Chicago actors portray key figures, including Emmett Till's mother and uncle. Co-adapted by G. Riley Mills and Willie Round, this project began in 2022 in collaboration with NBC5 Chicago anchor Marion Brooks.
